In the startup culture, there is a largely ignored problem of founders not taking appropriate care of themselves. This means that founders neglect to take proper account of their physical well-being (eating poorly, sitting a lot, not sleeping enough, working long days, etc.) as well as their mental health (increased stress, professional isolation, lack of social contact, constant fear, risks, etc...). The consequences are significant for the individuals, their families, investors, and everyone involved in the startup. The percentage of failed startups is to a large extent also the result of incorrect decisions as a consequence of insecurity, exhaustion, and stress.  The first problem the book addresses is the general lack of awareness about the extent to which founders are mentally stressed, followed by useful insights for the founder in her/his own development, and finally by knowing the basics of developing an organizational culture, which is an absolute reflection of the founder and the early startup management.
